In 2002, Youth Incentives was asked to support APSA in the development of an intervention package covering sexual health and HIV/AIDS prevention. APSA is an organisation working with street and slum children in the south of India. Both parties recognised that building confidence among the workers to discuss sexual issues is a long process. This requires support from the whole organisation. Meetings and workshops were organised that focused on how to discuss sensitive sexuality and sexual health issues with teenagers. Youth Incentives provided support in drawing up the programme for a four-day conference on sexuality and street/slum children that was held in July 2003. Another significant achievement was the incorporation of the issue of sexual health in the 2003 annual plan of the Bangalore Forum for Street and Working Children.
